What a nice tribute to Emily (Ruth) . This series fascinates me. Every time I look, I see something new, even if it was there before...

Ana is right, i DO love it and am honoured by your dedication.
while superficially it's quite a cute and amusing shot, i see it on a much deeper level (i guess you knew i would). it's a young, innocent, naive child wearing oversized shoes, having to grow up too soon, yet not really aware of the implications just yet. and no doubt wearing mum's shoes, to walk down her path even though those demands are far too much to ask of a young child who should be able to enjoy her childhood. the facial expression is perfect, as is the strip of light. the door will slowly close, the light will shrink, and the child will be plunged into darkness. a girl interrupted, most definitely.
powerful stuff Kal, and thank you.

This makes me smile, this makes me feel good, such a well done portrait, with beautiful light, and, as Adal said, those oversize shoes LOL! Very funny. I feel this image as a tender look on this beautiful child and moment.

These "slices" are definitely one of my favourites series of yours. This one is very special.. we are really peeking into the little one's world and also on the memories of our own, after all who didn't played with the grownup shoes??
Very beautiful & with a very special dedication also. She will love it I am sure ;)
