Not only is there tension in the body language of the child -- but he is outnumbered, two to one, and greatly out matched in size as well. I sense awe and wonder, curiosity and caution -- that fear you mention does not come through to me. The child stands too straight to be afraid.

Yes sir, there's a LOT of tension in this image. If that's what you want to convey, you did a great job with this one. My fault of course, because I didn't read the caption.
My oldest daughter rides too. She's only five, and not scared of even falling off. She's in total control of the animal. Very surprising, because she's usually pretty insecure. Me proud daddy!
It's actually on a hill, and I had noticed the tilt too. It is out of balance in that sense. Does the tension come through? He's only just started riding, and he has a huge fear of all animals.

I do like the picture, but what bothers me a bit, is that it's tilted slightly. I don't know why that is, because normally such things do not really bother me at all, but here, it seems to bring the image out of balance. That's just me of course.
