Such a metaphor for me of the hope of childhood - The child looks frightened but is warily approaching the light of a hopeful future - wonderful, wonderful image.

Scott, no need to explain, we all see what we want to see in images. I don't own their meaning for anybody. I wanted to express vunerability..that is a short road from how you fealt. I just posted an image in the gallery, dedicated to dR. I've seen some comment on his images of children as though they are unhappy or dark. But the reality is that all children have an intense side, intense does not always mean unhappy, but deep. Children being happy without a care is a dream made up by adults....they are as intense as you and I, if we look hard enough. So no explanation necessary. If my image can serve as a poster child against neglect, then I consider it a complement Scott. Thanks for your honesty, I value it. Rgds, Kal

Kal I want to explain my first comment. I see posters at work all the time in regards to children who are having family issues, abused, left alone, they always show a dark side of being a child. This shot reminds me of some that I have seen, they are not as good as this. I know this was not your intent, but that is one of the things this image brought to my mind.

Lovely Kal. This could have so many diferent meanings depending on who is looking. For me it is a fun shot, a play with light and the sometimes dark scary side of being a child. It could also be an awesome poster or ad for neglegted children. I just love it. Regards!

These are the images I like best. Playing with light in a minimalistic way is the most difficult thing there is; and you master it.

First the thanks you's :))) I am blushing like crazy here!!
And now about the photo... Sticking to the simple words I can say that it's a really beautiful work!!!! And it is truly to my liking!! Yes Kal you know how much I love thse images where a shread of light brings someone out of the darkness :) it's my biggest passion in photography really and one thing that I really am always eager to learn and try. Your photo is full of oportunity and it shows well your vision!!! How many of us would pass by and see nothing beautiful in that ray of light?? But you saw it and captured all the beauty of that moment in such a perfect way. Even the expression on the little face is magnificent!!!!
I love it :))))))
Thank you, thank you, thank you and most of all my most sincere congratulations for this amazing photo.

(I see that you already uploaded tons of images that I still haven't seen... I'll have to come back later, with time... bye Kal)

Cute shot. Is this the part when the child crawls in bed in the middle of the night to feel the comfort and safty of the parents,,, sure looks that way.
