Sinister? Crude? Horrible? It all depends upon our context for such things. Your title and caption are ironic -- the "ride of life" only occurs in death. Ultimately, this image speaks of food, its preparation, and its value. We must keep on eating or we, too, will die. I find this image quite expressive because of its incongruity, abstract quality, and the human values that come through, depending upon how we may interpret it: nourishment, suffering, cruelty, or continuity -- it's all left up to the viewer.

This is a pretty horrible image, but taken so well, from the perfect angle, with very nicely balanced contrast. Well done.
