No doubt he will wake up with a sore back. Super shot. I can almost hear the air escaping his mouth. Love the way the hand is hanging so relaxed.

A blossum of reverie caught in morning cacophony. Not answering to the rest of the forest commotion.Stubborn as an island of stolen peace with its petals wrapped tightly into a secret bud.Lost in a grey nest of a shadow pulse.Away from the stream of panic rivering around its knoll of solitude.

Wow, what a great image!

Hi Robbie, so glad you are visiting. Feet Up would be just as valid. From a technical point of viw the feet in focus was for a reason. By focusing on the feet I begin the composition, then the legs direct me towards the sleeping man at the back, who is framed through the knees. A greater depth of field would work too, but the choice of having his face slightly out of focus was meant to represent his slumber. Also greater depth of field would bring the clutter through at the back. I think the choice of focusing on him rather than the feet would have resulted in just as good an image, but it would have expressed differently. The out of focus feet and legs would have framed him...an equally valid way of expression, but he would have become the subject, not so much the position he is in.

Hello Kal , Nice shot here I like it ,but think the title wouldbe beter as "feet up"
as they are more in focus along with the sandles.Or perhaps focused on the eyes , or used a smaller F stopand slower speed. Just my opinion,Good shotwell done.

He would not find it humorous, but everyone watching me take it did. The thing I am learninig about street photography is that it is about taking the ordinary and making it so extra-ordinary (incongruous & abstracted) that those who would normally walk past such a secne are transfixed by the image. I know I am going to get a great image, when people around me react while I am taking it.

I love this shot. It is your vantage point that makes the point here. So typical of the streets of China. See my own sleepers athttp://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/31311555 andhttp://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/31311866
Yours is every bit as expressive as those. You put the viewer into a very intimate and incongruous position here. We are voyeurs, and we are amused. I am not sure he would find it as amusing however, but that's the price you pay for choosing to sleep in public, right?
