Kal, the key in this photograph (and what caught my attention in the thumbnail) is the soft green color in the window and in the flowers of the girl. The green means hope and that's what all children have in their hearts. Wonderful!
An iconic image, Kal. Very much in the tradition of Eugene Smith's Walk to Paradise Garden.
http://www.masters-of-photography.com/S/smith/smith_children_walking_full.html It's the same kind of abstraction here, the same boy girl thing, the same spirit of hope. Only the environment is different. I like the color in her hair, too. Nice touch.
Thanks Jen! I love the way you see things that I don't thnk I will ever be able see when I look at images, but they are there! Gender differences, simply by looking at the walk...how true. This was one of those moments I instantly react to when I see them. It was only afterwards, that I struggled with the message I think I was trying to express at the time, and it was about innocense.
You have two worlds here, and you link them together beautifully using the only color in this picture. The way they are walking suggests gender differences, but what is in common is two pure souls which are in this world, dreaming about things in another world. As you said, they are all in the secret garden, and the secret garden is in their little hearts.
