Corporate Crimes

Corporate Crime or Young Addiction? I only know one thing; this image is wrong, but true to life. A new generation who's sole purpose for existence is to consume.

Canon EOS 20D
1/4000s f/2.8 at 70.0mm iso200 full exif

I'm a normal guy like MOST people on this world.

I'm not a PROFESSIONAL at pictures, but i do have eyes like everyone else aswell as a perfect shaped mind. When i look at tis picture..

All i see is this kid with a shirt sayin "australia:" drinking "coke" which is spilling on his shirt. To be exact with my point, i see no danger at all... this kids like looking at his mum or sumfin having fun at a themeparK! and soon to be off to australia!..

Please, leave all the colors on and just let it SHOW the truth of the picture and the youth of it's country. Jase

Dear Guest. Photography is transient, I totally agree that this image is out of context, and then it’s used for a purpose, but then the same would be true of this image with the words “Coca-Cola is It” emblazoned all over it. Only then we would call it advertising. I’m doing nothing different here, just showing an alternative advert. There’s been a variety of responses to this image from humorous to victim, to criticising coke, to bad habits, to your reaction, which is there is nothing wrong with this. I’m glad, it proves a point, which is that a picture can mean different things to different people, and that is OK. The truth is that every picture is taken out of context, no sound, feeling or taste, and only a limited frame. The point is to use that frame to have an impact. I drink coke. K

Victim? He's a little boy enjoing a coke he' not a victim you attempt to take something out of context in order to make your point and the only point you make is propaganda of any kind is bad. but I like the picture I have one very much the same of my son when he was about this age. One more point if we do not consume we die I am willing to bet that you have consumed something for you intire life it's kind of how we survive.

Just commented on a more recent image, similar to this one in technique. While the techniques are the same, in this light hearted case, the colored can becomes almost humorous as it turns reality into fantasy. As I said in my earlier comment, this could almost be an ad. The orange MacDonalds wrapper athttp://www.pbase.com/shangheye/image/50805853 , while using the same graphic device, is used in a tragic context, and in doing so, competes with poignancy of the moment.

oh yes, different image, absolutely same message: victims.
Love this image. The child is not only drinking coke, he is like sucking it here. And here is the incongruity: who sucks who ?
Fantastic. Thanks.

It could almost be an ad for Coke. And it certainly reinforces the point that bad habits begin early.

any image to do with coca-cola and capitalism is a winner in my book! this one is no exception. like Jen, i love the partial desaturation (again! you seem to have the knack for when to use it). the can looks so big too...and the red emphasizes exactly what company it is. i like Jen's comment that the colour itself expresses emotion. danger, anger, lure. lots of things.

I like how you interpret this picture, and leave the only color on the can. The color happen to be red which can sometimes express danger, and that is in fact part of your message..
