Gavin of Guinness, Brick Lane 2009

Spent the weekend in London meeting up with old friends. We walked down Brick Lane (the old East End), and came across a few unlikely characters who had seen the place like we never see it.

Gavin was one of them. He was drinking Guinness out of a Coffee mug, his pals were drinking real Coffee and Tea, so I bought them a round.

What a place, What people, what stories.

I intend to print this and another image I will post another day and return to give it to them.

(You've gone to a lot of trouble to deny this is an SP.) ;-)

Seriously good, Kal, and made with a 'serious' classic
handheld 4x5 Graflex D pushing 60 years old. *V*

Perhaps he saw the reflection from the camera's lens and suddenly recognized the man he has become.
What an intense portrait, but Truth often lacerates, doesn't it?
Bravo!!!

A wonderful portrait, Kal -- his face tells so many stories, and your diffused light is a perfect match.
