The Eleventh Annual Polar Bear Swim was held at the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club in Gainesville, Ga.
About 30-40 people participated in jumping into 51 degree water for the start of the New Year.
51 degree F is pretty chilly. But if you did not have to cut a hole in the ice you are just pretending. On the upside probably no one dies, the reason we don't cut holes in the ice anymore. Keep on paddlin'.
