The Alaskan Oil Pipeline is about 800 miles long, starting in Prudhoe Bay on the north slope of Alaska, and ending in Valdez, where the oil is off-loaded to tanker ships for transport to the lower 48 states. I was able to take an ATV (all terrain vehicle) right up to the pipeline.
