The joys of being a Mandarin student in a chinese restaurant. The phrase "Gou Bu Li" can be translated as "The dog will ignore it". I queried this with the shy 19 year old waitress. "Does this mean a dog wouldn't even eat this dumpling?". "Oh no " she squealed - "It's just a name". I had to go to Wikipedia to find some answers, and none were very enlightening. It turns out the dumplings are a favourite variety of mine, I just hadn't seen the name in print before.
