Moose (and other animals) in Baxter State Park in Maine

Moose (and other animals)in Baxter State Park in Maine at Sandy Stream Pond. An adult Bull Moose stands about 7 feet tall at the shoulders and can weigh over 1,600 pounds. The top of it's antlers may stand as much as 10 feet off the ground. Moose can be found feeding in ponds with lots of vegetation on the bottom. They can eat around 30 pounds of food a day an usually feed early in the morning, from noon to 2 pm and around sunset. The Bull Moose were seen across the pond at about 150 yards away. The Cow Moose were so close that they were practically in our lap. Many of the photographers enjoyed the beautiful day taking images of the large animals.
