7th ARCOM
The shoulder sleeve insignia worn by 7th ARCOM
soldiers consists of a red-bordered yellow shield with
a blue castle wall and tower surmounted by a white
silhouetted Minuteman’s head detailed in blue. Red,
white and blue represent the colors of the United States
of America, while gold is symbolic of excellence. The
Minuteman, a symbol of combat readiness, recalls the
heritage of the USAR. The castle wall alluding to
Europe and representing defense, symbolizes the command’s
mission to defend the European front. The seven
embattlements on the wall and tower are indicative
of the unit’s numerical designation.
The 7th U.S. Army Reserve Command (ARCOM) consists
of 22 drilling reserve units, with over 900 soldiers,
located throughout Germany and in Vicenza, Italy. The
7th ARCOM provides U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) with
trained and ready units. As the Army’s only reserve
command totally stationed on foreign soil, the command’s
citizen-soldiers are “An Ocean Closer” to the world’s
potential trouble spots. Like our motto, “All Ready, Already Here,”
our units serve proudly alongside their parent active component USAREUR units.
