Worn as a Pocket Patch from:
September 1943 - July 1945
Although this patch was (Unauthorized),
it is most likely a Repro patch most likely worn locally.
This design shows the numerical designation of the
battalion above a parachute that is superimposed on a
hand clutching a bloody sword pointed in the striking
position. As a training battalion, the unit was assigned
to the Replacement and School Command at Fort Benning,
Georgia. Designated as a training regiment, the unit
eventually was re-designated Airborne Training Center
Detachment with responsibility for overseas replacement
of paratroopers and glider men. The background color is
found in gray as well as blue.
