Alaskan Support Command
Worn from:
8 May 1967 - Late 1970's.
The Aurora Borealis, a phenomenon familiar to Alaska,
is represented by the yellow zigzag arch. The white and
blue colors suggest the colder climate of the region.
The cogged wheel simulates the driving wheel of a tracked
vehicle such as might be used in snow and rough terrain.
Inside the wheel, the box refers to supplies and its division
into four parts applies to the provision of quarters or housing.
