The design incorporates the unit's designation with a
coiled serpent and a skull representing death to the enemy.
Below this are crossed, scoped rifles suggested by the
infantry branch of service insignia. The Infantry School
insignia suggests that the school is a part of the infantry center.
The torch of knowledge is a symbol for schools and represents
enlightenment.
The inscription on the scroll at the base is in Latin and
translates as, "I came, I saw, I conquered."
The phrase is attributed to Julius Caesar.
