The winged wheel is taken from the Transportation Corps'
insignia. The torch signifies knowledge and alludes to the
training in transportation. Brick red and yellow are the
colors of the Transportation Corps. The school is located
at Fort Eustis, Virginia. It was founded at State College
in Starkville, Mississippi, on 19 October 1942. It was
transferred to its present location in May 1946. The motto
of the school is "Pro Scientiam Progredimur"

(Through learning we progress).
