USMLM Potsdam

United States Military Liasion Mission Potsdam

Worn from:
29 December 1945 - 18 April 1946.

This mission was established after the conclusion of the
Potsdam Conference a meeting of the Big Three (United States,
Great Britain and USSR). The design is based on the original
Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces patch.
The sword represents the Allies. The letters indicate the unit's
designation. The flag indicates that the patch was worn by American personnel.

hap[ened to run across your site. I wish to point out the patch shown below was initiated for use by USMLM personnel by Col. Schanze, Commander USMLM 1952-1954, and approved for use by USAREUR early in 1954, and was worn continuously until the organization was disbanded in the early 1990's. Prior to 1954, at least during 1952-54 period, USMLM personnel wore the "BERLIN" patch where that word was located above the standard SHAEF patch.
