Green and yellow are the colors traditionally associated
with military police organizations. The upright sword
symbolizes the unit's total military readiness. The chevrons
simulate arrows that form a narrow aperture through which the
sword passes, alluding to the Panama Canal. The chevrons also
symbolize support and the unit's mission within the United States Army South.
