4th

The 4th RCT was a Regular Army unit and was
activated and inactivated twice during the period
of 1948 to 1958 with Headquarters at Fort Lewis,
Washington, and Fort Devens, Massachusetts. The
shield shape of the patch suggests the unit's
combat readiness and the star suggests the unit's
ability to strike in any direction. The four points
of the star also allude to the unit's number "4".
