I served in the 353d CA CMD from 1974 to 1991 as a First Sergeant and later as a Sgt Maj when the unit met in the Bronx Patterson Center. It was the best assignment I ever had, and certainly, the most interesting of all the units I served in. I still miss it, and the people that I served with. But more important, I'm happy to see that the 353d is no longer a "week end warrior" unit with no real mission, and is now a valued member of the active component serving and performing a vital task in all of the troubled areas in the world.
