Jeanneau 38, Sausalito, March 4 2018
Sausalito and its marinas always offer some fascinating views. The collection of bohemian or even derelict looking living boats never stops to amaze. The Bay itself was quite empty. Possibly because of the rain and cold front, which cleared out just the day before our sail. Thus in terms of visuals, not much happened on the water. The visibility was though quite extraordinary. This Jeanneau had a truly unconventional style of rigging: Main sheet had to be operated on 2 rear winches symmetrically. In normal case, jib sheets are operated on these winches. The jib was self tacking. A single jib sheet was threaded into the cockpit, where we usually expect the main sheet to be!
