Day 4 (July 11), Exploring Avalon
Day started like the previous one: Gloomy morning, kids fishing, and voila: They really caught a fish! We took a ride on the Nautilus, "The Yellow Submarine." Personally I do not think that we were too impressed... Its a sub-submersible, thus it does not really dive, they just display flashing lights and show some gauges on a flat screen. Maybe this fools kids. But the most annoying aspect was the fish feeding: They have actually a guy walking by with a portable credit card reader to collect a few extra dollars for a fish bait. Kids can press a button 4 times, when it shows green, to shoot some food out of a pipe on a sub's haul. Fish knows that and assembles in masses around the sub, and for a few seconds a feeding frenzy unfolds. I think this should better be included in the quite expensive ticket price. Evening ended with a great meal prepared by Igor, and a classical music performance from Aia! That was really special. |
