Sailing a Jeanneau 40, Sausalito 7.Aug.2011
Our Day on the Bay begun very gloomy, to clear up in the afternoon with a splendid display of a typical fog layer crawling over San Francisco. We got the "blue sky" around 1pm, a bit later than I wish we would have, but it was perfect for our lunch on Angel Island. Winds were very typical, around 25kt in the middle of the Bay. Later in the day we chose the "inspect" the status of the new Bay Bridge construction. The progress has been slow for years. This time as it seems the final segment of the new bridge takes shape.

Attraction of the day were the visiting canoes of the Pacific Voyagers Society. We expected them to be docked at the Treasury Island, but instead we spotted them in front of the Golden Gate from afar, crossing the straight between Lands End and Point Bonita. It was very impressive, I never saw so many of them at the same place.
