I am very interested in military history and, like many others, was very interested in the book "Band of Brothers", even before it was filmed. On a drive from North Carolina to Florida, I visited Currahee, the famous mountain where members of the 506th trained. The road up has been renamed the Colonel Robert F. Sink Memorial Trail, in honor of the 506th's wartime commanding officer. The hill itself is steeped in both grade and history.
