Final Night

The last night was fun. Ate and drank and partied until 12am- when we flew out of Darwin to Sydney. Then, tried to sleep in the Sydney airport for 4 hours till our 7am flight to LA. Arrived in LA at 8am of the day before (how does that work??) after 14 hours of no sleep (I can't sleep on planes). All of us were depressed at landing in LA. Australia is a land of relaxed lifestyles. You get your work done, but you take your time off as well. LA was a major culture shock- right back in the hustle and bustle of the US. Then, 8 hours of flights and airport wanderings later, I arrived in DC and met my parents. Another 3 hours drive home, then 2 hours staying up talking with them. By now I'd been up over 50 hours and was so exhausted I didn't even feel it. Went to bed at 4am and slept till about 7pm the next day. Yeah jetlag sucks, but eventually I got over it. Unfortunately, I never got over the addiction to the Aussie land and lifestyle. I still have dreams about it 4 years later. Someday I will return...
