30/4/06 Worth a Telling Off?

All I did was take a photograph of the sunglasses, but the vendor told me off for taking the shot without asking permission. I've been so used to taking pictures in India, that it didn't even occur to me to ask - it's not like I'd taken her picture. She refused to accept my apology, shouting at me, telling me I was very rude. I walked away, upset, and should have just shrugged it off.

I've been spending months thinking fondly of the gentle Thai people, though, and didn't like to think I'd offended sone. I returned to the stall, apologising again, explaining that it hadn't done any harm. Her and her companions just continued to shout at me, reducing me to tears.

I don't know, maybe she wasn't a morning person - I can definitely relate to that. Certainly got my day off to a bad start - maybe I should remember that next time I'm about to snap at someone.

Hi there - thanks for your comments on my PAD gallery. Hopefully the compensation of getting a cool photo here makes up slightly for the vendor's ludicrously short fuse. Parasol reflections are great.
