I went on holiday to Cyprus for the first time in May 2009 with my boyfriend Chris - you can see his photos here. We stayed in Pafos, which was a great base to explore the western end of the island. We hired a 4x4 vehicle and visited several local places of interest. We spent a day exploring the Troodos Mountains, and checked out the archaeological sites at Kourion and Kolossi. Our favourite place was the Akamas Peninsula, which was wonderfully rugged. Around Pafos itself we went to the Tombs of the Kings, and saw the amazing mosaics and the Christian Bascilica.
