Getting this shot was no easy feat. Swannie and Mardi have chosen a small island that is almost impossible to see. It took me many paths between palmettos and cypress knees to get an opening to get this photo. Smart little birds, they are protecting their privacy. A longer lens would have been nice as this shot is across a body of water.
Swannie was born on an island like this at the other end of the Park some six years ago and she has chosen wisely for her first nest.
