Bayou St. John in New Orleans

The only swan left in City Park after Katrina no longer cares to live in City Park but has moved across the way into Bayou St. John because of the alligators. The governor of Louisiana promised me she would have the alligators taken out of City Park but so far "promises are promises."

Swans are top of the food chain on our river, but then fortunately we don't have alligators. I bet he/she would like company though - very sad

A beautiful shot, so nicely isolated from the surrounding area. And from the alligators!

The swan must have more sense than the governor heheh

Nice swan shot Coleen. I believe there are alligators close to Christian Brothers School. When my boys were there, falling in the lagoon was a regular occurance.

The swan looks as though it knows not to wait on the governor, great image.

At least she's a survivor! Let us know if we can write some letters or something. V

Yep, promises, promises. Politicians can't seem to get the ball rolling. Beautiful capture of this swan. She looks very lonely! V

Poor little thing.

Another frustration and another wonderful image. I'm reading a book in which swans play an important part....I think of you with every page turn!
