In Memory of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy - November 22, 1963

On November 22, 1963, President Kennedy was assassinated in office while serving as the 35th President of the United States.
Unfortunately, today I did not see one newscast or read one newspaper report recalling the event.

Thanks for the reminder, Coleen. We were so impressed by the JFK Museum and Library at Boston - a "must-see" for all visitors. He was an exceptional man.

well, even here in the UK it was mentioned in a documentary I watched on telly late last night. great tribute shot, Coleen.

Hmmmm! I guess we rely too much on the media to remind us of important dates.
I was in class at Buff State College
Thanks for the reminder Coleen

I think most people, if they're old enough, remember exactly what they were doing when they first heard the news that day. This is a wonderful, touching shot.

FOX news covered it this evening (not a plug) which I thought was unusual as it was not mentioned on either NBC or ABC which I watched earlier, nor did I hear it on the radio at all.
I still remember this day in 1963, exactly what I was doing and who I was talking too when I heard of JFK's death on the radio.

it IS odd there was no mention of it at all . . . I guess it only gets publicity when it's a specific anniversary, like the 25th or 40th . . .and like everyone else who lived thru it, I remember exactly where Iwas and what I was doing when I learned of it.
Thanks Coleen

We all remember where we were and we all remember the emptiness. Great tribute.

Wow, has been that long already? I was just a child but I do remember that day vividly!

Hmmmm, they mentioned it on the news up here in Canada. Nice tribute Coleen.

Something that we will remember as long as we live, but how sad that it has been already forgotten

I remember seeing the news as a 9 year old on our black and white TV. Strangely, I did hear a reference to the shooting over here on BBC Radio today.

Same here.... nothing mentioned. Has it REALLY been 43 years!!??
royalld23-Nov-2006 02:19
Nothing mentioned in this part of the country either. Very strange isn't it?

Just about two months after I was born. Strangely silent here too.

You know, Coleen, I observed the same thing. I heard nothing...and the minute I wrote the date today I remembered. A moment I will never forget...where I was, what I was doing. Thank you for remembering and paying tribute. He was in San Antonio the day before the assasination, but unfortunately I was not able to see him. My mother-in-law did....

Well done, Coleen. I haven't seen or heard anything on the airways about President Kennedy's assassination either. Since that sad day, we have had so many assassinations in our world it has become an all too common way of settling scores and getting one's way without regard for human life.
