Two Years Anniversary on PBase - SP

On the Banks of the Mississippi River in New Orleans

What a grand time it has been! The talented and wonderful people I have met through PBase are immeasurable.
The past year has been hectic since Hurricane Katrina slapped our City silly and there were some days when I did not think I could take one more picture.
On Saturday evening I went to the hospital emergency room in an ambulance with lights flashing and sirens screaming. In my police work I had either driven the vehicle or followed it and I must say that riding in it with an i.v. going and oxygen in my nose was much more frightening. The elephant sitting on my chest would not talk back to me. For a while I did not think I was going to see this anniversary. However, a heart attack has been ruled out for the moment. I said in my head on that wild excursion "Well, Katrina, you finally got me." And, as you can see, I am back near the River with all of its restorative powers.
I thank you all for your wonderful support, kindness and gentleness. It has been a wonderful two years.

Congrats and so glad you're here with us. Quote from Mojo Nixon(singer /songwriter) " I hate banks, just can't stand 'em, but I love the banks of the Mississippi River!" and looks like you do too!!!!!!!!

To start with this is a great SP and congratulations on two years with pBase. I hope you keep us informed on what is happening with you, as you are very important to a lot of us. Some of us have grown quite fond of your work in photography and your uplifting comments. From what little I know of you, Katrina will never get the best of you. Please take care and looking forward to more images from you.

Wow... I don't know where to begin.
Most importantly, Please try to take care of yourself. If you care for yourself only half as well as you care for those around you, you should live forever.

Congratulations! Two years on PBase! You have added a world of beauty, charm, compassion, and insight to this website. And that list doesn't begin to address the awareness you brought to us in the aftermath of last year's terrible disaster. Please continue to entertain, enlighten, and share your beauty with us for years and years to come.

And I remember the very first photo I saw of yours. It was he upward shot of that curving staircase & I thought it was beautiful...You are one great Steel Magnolia Coleen & I mean that in the nicest of ways !! Your year of keeping up with events following the disaster, your courage & strength are exemplary. Your commitment to everything you do is 100%
Listen not only to your heart, but to your body, Coleen. Your looking good...stay that way !!!

First of all, congrats! It is so nice to have your big beautiful smile on an SP to mark this anniversary. Your faithfulness throughout this last year has amazed me. You single-handedly kept us intimately aware of the challenges faced (and still facing) our gulf brothers and sisters.

BLESS YOU COLEEN. You are FAMILY!
