Charity Hospital in New Orleans

New Orleans, Louisiana

This hospital was founded and staffed by nuns, The Daughters of Charity, thus the name. Its architecture was French, built in the 1800's. It was later demolished and replaced with a newer, hospital similar in architecture to the Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge. The newer structure flooded following Katrina and was not reopened. There are plans to demolish it.
I was born in this beautiful hospital and am so happy I have a photo of it.

Agree with Paul, the white concrete structure was the Charity that we remember.
But this one is certainly much more impressive than Huey's !!!

Did not know that the hospital that is standing today was not the original building.
Your photo is a much better looking building.
