Life's Too Short for Beige

Metairie, Louisiana

The new walls are up and painted following new electrical work. Floors are next. Soon our youngest son and his wife will be able to re-occupy their downstairs after living on their second floor for the past year following the flooding after Hurricane Katrina.
The flooding in this area was caused because the Parish (County) President did not have the drainage pumps working--he had sent the pump operators some 75 miles away across Lake Pontchartrain.

I don't want to dwell too long on this shot.
I am resisting putting dark colors on our walls.
I think I am going to lose the battle, though.
These walls DO look pretty good...
