Southern Gallery

Pointe Coupee', Louisiana

This is not a porch, it is a gallery. The ceiling fan is for our hot, humid summers when we like to sit outside.
This house was built in 1835 and still has its wonderful pine floors and wrap around mantle pieces. It was moved twice in its lifetime.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Looks so relaxing, would love to be sitting there with a glass of ice tea and watch the world go by. Wonderful photo.

No doubt that a lot of miles have been logged in those chairs. Beautiful scene.

This is one of those pictures that I just want to step into and enjoy for awhile.
I can almost feel the warm breeze and the gliding motion of the porch swing. Lovely capture.

What a lovely place to sit. I've never seen a ceiling fan outside before.

What a wonderful scene and marvellous picture. I've learned so much about real lives in other countries and particularly USA since joining PBase. And pictures like this are so special.

Simply beaautiful. I love the color scheme. I wish I had the kind of decorating skills to put together something like that.

When I think of the south, this is what I picture. A cool ice tea and a lazy fan.
Could spend a lota time in one of those rockers

Boy, would my wife love a porch like this. It's beautiful. It look like it's in remarkable condition after being moved twice.

OK, you did it...I am now going to sit out on my front porch... What a lovely, restful image.
Guest 04-Jun-2006 00:50
I would so love to have one of these rather than the concrete thingie in front of my squat ranch house!!! Which, of course, I am nonetheless quite grateful for. It is still here, at least. Beautiful, dreamy shot!
