General Andrew Jackson

Place d'Armes

This is one of the few statues of a horse mounted that has both feet off the ground. Most mounted horse statues have three feet on the ground.

Almost a silhouette...very nicely exposed.

Nice one, I presume it's bronze.
The sulpter must have been very clever, the image is so well balanced.

I, too, am really impressed with the composition.

Nicely composed shot.
I was under the impression that statues of horses with two hoofs in the air, indicate the rider was killed in battle.
Horses with one foot in the air indicate the rider was injured in battle.
That must be true because I read it somewhere on the Internet :^)
I don't recall how Andrew Jackson died but I am sure it was not in battle.
