This once nice cottage is about two blocks from the floodwall break in the 17th Street Canal. This is what happens when millions of gallons of raging water hits a structure. All the furniture in the house swirled and floated and it has been sitting this way for over 6 months. The owners are probably waiting for insurance companies, the Corps of Engineers and FEMA to come up with a plan. No one will rebuild unless the levees are structurally sound.
President George Bush visited this area this morning. I did not take a photo of him.
