Predator

Lake Pontchartrain

The doctor ordered me to bed Thursday with a hurt back (too much Katrina cleanup) so I have not taken pictures for two days. It even hurts to laugh. These are from Wednesday.
This boat came in after a day's shrimping with 10,000 pounds of shrimp. There were only two men on board.

great capture... so thats what caused the back problem. So easy to work hard and try and get everything sorted out, but also so easy to overdo it. Take care, Coleen.

I may have had some of those shrimp the other day.
Nice lighting.

Sorry, I meant sorry! Too early in the morning too type but I do love this photo.

I am so sotty about your back. The light on this is super. Good catch of the bird and great reflection.

That's two and a half tons of shrip per man. That's a lot of shrimping. I remember flying over all the shrimp boats while taking guys out to the oil rigs and thinking, "that's probably a pretty hard way of life".
Neal Nye07-Jan-2006 12:59
I hope they send some of it up here. I love your captures of the flying birds. As well as the colors and the reflections. Hope you're back on your feet soon.

Lovely light and an interesting name for a boat. Gotta love government support don't ya? Do it yourself, no matter what the cost. Get better soon.

Wonderful shot! Take care of you back!

Lots of help to unload the precious cargo. I know that the pelicans are secondary, but they add a great deal to the shot. Very nice balance.

10,000 lbs. 2 guys. I'm betting you're not the only one laid up with a hurting back. Take care so you can bring us more like this. It's super.

best wishes to you Coleen

That is not good news, Coleen. Please take care of yourself. No photos for me for two days either, but I don't have an excuse.

I like how you caught the seagull in flight and the name predator makes me laugh. Sorry to hear about your back and hope you get to feeling better. And, I love shrimp!
Guest 07-Jan-2006 03:17
The name of this boat fits right in to it's character doesn't it?
s_barbour07-Jan-2006 03:13
Wonderful composition and gorgeous lighting Coleen. I hope that your back is feeling better soon, but be sure to pamper yourself until it is.
