What a bright idea this was---not. Elgin and I walked over the levee and through the wooded path to the River. The mosquitos almost carried us away; huge, hungry mosquitos. I almost left the tripod in my haste to get back. We had on long pants and long sleeves but they were swarming all over our faces.

Mossies will bring Margaret out in huge blisters just thinking about them! Me, old elephant hide is troubled less! I like the sunset though, thanks for suffering !

Nasty creatures, especially now that they carry diseases like West Nile. At least you weren't scratching so much you couldn't post this beautiful scene.

Well, you managed to capture a beautiful sunset despite the bugs. There's a certain type of mosquito that swarms like that. I had a similar experience once so I know how you just run. I even had them in my ears. I bet Brian knows what they're called. He's the "nature" guy. LOL.

What a lovely silhouette. So sorry about the skeeters. I had a beauty of a sunset tonight, too, but no mosquitos, thank goodness. I have not checked my images yet, maybe I'll post one in the morning.

A beautiful sunset and terrifc silhouette. The mosquitos are so big. I wonder where they're hatching--there's no standing water around here for miles.
