Window and cedar tree

New Orleans, Louisiana

The architecture and weathering of this window struck me as being so beautiful. It is a window in a private mausoleum and the mausoleum is surrounded by cedar trees. I also liked this one.
In this mausoleum are interred the French Ursuline nuns who came to New Orleans in 1727 to build a convent, a school and a military hospital. It is also the resting place of several of my dear friends who were Ursuline nuns.

AND, I like this one also because of the compatibility of the cedar and the window colors (green mold in our humid climate).

Like the first one- shows all the details.. love the green moss on it.

I like these, Colleen. The green tint of moss around the frame of the window makes me feel the humidity.

Interetsing photograph. The green algae or moss makes it.

I'm glad you put up all three; it would be difficult to choose which is best. They are all really impressive.

Good find Coleen. I like the frosted reflection of the tree.

Great window ! We used to have a kid's programme and each day there would be a different story through either the square, arched or round window !

Such an intersting photo and story Coleen. Had crossed my mind though to wonder if this was a window?

Old buidlings, wherever they are, are so fascinating. Lovely framing.
