New Orleans City Park Ancient Oak Grove

New Orleans City Park

Many of you have commented how green everything looks in Louisiana in the middle of winter. That is because of our live oaks (Quercus virginiana) that grow only in 14 coastal states in the U. S. A. You will find them along rivers, bayous and other waterways and the most famous allee' of live oaks is Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie, Louisiana.
The live oak never goes bare--it sheds its old leaves as it is putting on its new leaves, therefore you will always have a green tree. This photo is part of an ancient oak grove.

Cabin fever, bed hair (???) and teaching mode, sounds serious Coleen. What lovely trees and the composition is great too.

This is such a sad image, Coleen. Someone lost their kite.

The trees are amazing, as is the photo. It's nice how you positioned yourself to create that great arch framing those other oaks in the distance. I hope you will continue to cheat all you want. The more the better.
