A New Pair

Thankfully, since the banning of DDT, our eagle population in southeast Louisiana is increasing.
January 22, 2017-- UNFORTUNATELY, three weeks after I took this photo a nightime lightning storm hit the tree and destroyed the nest and surroundings trees. Hopefully, the eagles were spared and will build another nest close by. So very sad.

That DDT ban was a big factor in bringing eagle back nationwide! Nice shot Coleen they look like they are in prow of an old ship!

Impressive nest they built but then again they are Bald Eagles - an impressive bird!

That is an impressive nest. Terrific photo of this pair. It's a long winter before they return to us in Ontario.

Our resident pair has moved to a new nest away from the river about a half mile from the nest on the river. Nice capture!

nice image, Coleen well done. Glad to see they are increasing. Bout time for me to check several spots around here and see if they made it back yet. ~V~
