St. Philip Catholic Church

Vacherie, Louisiana

This church parish was established in the 1800's and served the German and French Catholics of the River Road in St. John the Baptist and St. James Civil Parishes. The wooden structure has survived hurricanes and the Great Depression but is still housing the people of the River Parishes.

A charming building with such an interesting history. The light was particularly nice that day.

It's a lovely old church. I really prefer the simpler and older churches to modern ones. Beautiful capture of it.
