Tall Ship in New Orleans

New Orleans Riverfront

We have Navy Week in New Orleans beginning a three year commemoration of the War of 1812.
Bad weather with high wind has hampered a lot of the activities today and tomorrow and the performance over Lake Pontchartrain by the Blue Angels has been cancelled both days, what a shame.
This tall ship is from Indonesia.

But, the low clouds add to this outstanding composition. Hope the weather improves for you.

From Indonesia! I can't imagine crossing the Pacific Ocean in that. Still, a beautiful shot on that somber day.

Blue Angels have both a "high show" and a "low show" which they preform, weather permitting. We have seen both, the high show is decidedly more impressive. As the name states, it is more a vertical performance, while the low show is more horizontal.
Should have great weather coming up. Might be a little cooler if our front continues down there.

No, Zak. It came upriver from the Gulf of Mexico and will sail downriver to the Gulf when it leaves.
Zak21-Apr-2012 22:44
Nice, will it fit under the bridge?
