Carville's Lake

Patients at Carville were well treated. This lake was stocked with fish for them to fish. In recent years golf carts were provided for them to travel from the dormitories to the Lake or the golf course.
Please read the history at the beginning of this gallery to understand the full meaning of Carville's Leprosarium.

Hi Coleen,
Beautiful photos of Carville where I was once a patient in the 1950's. I must say they give me mostly fond memories of my stay at Carville.

Well at least they had a nice tranquil setting to live their lives.
