Mrs. Chase and her husband opened one of the first restaurants for black people in New Orleans-"Dooky Chase". Many famous people ate there through the years. Her latest one was Barack Obama whom she scolded for putting ketchup on her food.
She does Creole cooking and in her 80's she still spends a lot of time in the kitchen.
