Afton Villa Welcomes You - 2009

St. Francisville, Louisiana

I found everything to be blooming early in the gardens. The azaleas along the entrance were in full bloom and the oaks were half-way through putting on their new dress. The thousands of daffodils on the hills were also in full bloom as well as many of the tulips in the ruins garden.
Louisiana had a comparatively cold winter in 2008-2009 with a rare snow falling in December. One would think the cold would have hampered early blooms, but nature knows best.

Beautiful scene. Love the contrast between the dull oaks and bright azelias.

This is so pretty. Makes me homesick for azaleas and oaks.
