William Milton Griffin (1838-1927) and Laura Ellen Carter (1841-1922). Laura was the sister of William Anderson Carter (b.1836), who was the father of Winston Marshall Carter (1868-1962), who in turn was the father of Howard Cecil Carter (1914-1997) of Leaksville (Eden), North Carolina. William and Laura were married in Stokes County, North Carolina on August 17, 1858. They subsequently lived in Grayson County, Kentucky; Oklahoma, and Coleman Co. Texas where they are buried.
