Fish Auction at Suisan, Hilo

Suisan in Hilo, was once a thriving fish market where the daily catch from the fishing boats was auctioned each day. Declining daily catch and low demand accelerated its demise. Most of these were taken by my son with an Olympus digital camera.

Yes, Suisan still survives but I shuld have been more specific, the fish auction is no longer operational. Suisan has expanded greatly into general goods and services beyond fishing.
