Sewing a Mauna Loa Vanda Lei

The Muana Loa style of leis uses the same flowers as the regular leis.
However, the Mauna Loa style requires the careful fitting together of the individually trimmed orchid flowers to ceate an almost cylindrical rope.
Over 200 flowers are required for this style of lei.

How do they keep the blossoms from wilting before they get sewn onto the lei?? This is a fun shot, seeing how they make them.
